Ekami and Ekami Consulting Ltd

The Kotka-Hamina region consortium is founded in 2005 by the towns of Hamina, Kotka, Miehikkälä, Pyhtää and Virolahti. However, the roots of vocational education in the region go back well over a hundred years.

Our task is to train professionals for the needs of the region’s business community and the public sector. On behalf of the owner municipalities, we are responsible for organizing vocational training and the Coastal Workshops unit for organizing youth workshops and exploratory youth work in the Southern Kymenlaakso area.

The Education Consortium also includes two subsidiaries, Ekami Consulting Ltd (official name Southern Kymenlaakso Adult Education Center Ltd) and Primus High Tech Ltd. Ekami Consulting Ltd offers qualification and in-service training that is open to everyone, as well as company-specific tailored training.

Primus High Tech Ltd, on the other hand, maintains a high-tech operations center in the Kymenlaakso area and carries out related teaching, research, development and training activities.

Our vocational education in the field of seafaring and harbour

Ekami organizes versatile maritime and seafaring training on both deck and engine fields. It is possible for you to complete a degree, for example, as a repairman, watchkeeping officer, watchkeeping engineer, seaman or able seaman. It is also possible to complete shipping economy studies at Ekami.

For those interested in port industry training, we offer e.g. vocational degree in cargo handling.
